Wage negotiations for women
Practical tips for fair wages and better working conditions
Women in Switzerland earn significantly less than men - and the difference can only partly be explained by objective factors. The lower wages lead to less economic independence for women and to losses in pension provision.
On average, women earn 1,500 francs or 18 percent less per month than men (based on the mean value). Only about half of the pay gap can be explained objectively. A large factor in the remaining difference is salary negotiations.
